Val Salnikov
Val is originally from Russia, where he danced with the world famous Kirov Ballet. While taking classes from David Howard, Val met Mikhail Baryshnikov who later helped him launch his career in the United States. Val has successfully collaborated with Wynton Marsalis in the U.S., Mstislav Rostropovich in Europe, as well as other internationally respected dancers, choreographers, and musicians from around the world for nearly three decades. Since 2011, Val has served as a Ballet Master Instructor with  Jacksonville Center for the Arts and with the Jill Stanford Dance Center. Since joining GIBC Val has served as Artistic Director and Producer of From Russia with Ballet, The Nutcracker
and The Golden Gala
Bess Chambliss
In August of 2015 she co founded Golden Isles Ballet Company LLC and the GIBC Foundation to bring more ballet art and performance opportunities to the Golden Isles. In January of 2015 she co produced and danced in From Russia with Ballet (Chopiana and Rose Adagio) and The Nutcracker November 2015 as Snow Queen and Arabian Princess. In December 2015 she had the honor of performing as Sugar Plum Fairy with partner Val Salnikov as well as original Tango en Pointe Collaborations with the Coastal Symphony of Georgia under the direction of Maestro Luis Haza. She looks forward to a special presentation of Bolero and Spectre de La Rose with the Coastal Symphony of Georgia in November 2016. She Received her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and her graduate degree in Exercise Science from The George Washington University. Wife and mother of three, she has been a student and teacher of Pilates and Yoga since 2000. Her passion for movement and learning led her to take Ballet class for the first time in 2013.
Janita Nelson
Born in South Africa grew up in Johannesburg . Spent a lot of time as a child and young adult in the bush of Botswana,camping and living with wild animals .

Studied Fine Art Majoring in Print Making at the University of the Witwatersrand then went on to study Ceramics At the University of Witwatersrand of South Africa.

Worked as a Artist and have exhibited in SA and the USA. Also studied yoga in the USA have worked as a yoga teacher for the last 18 years and as a art teacher for the last 10 years.
Have two children Acacia and Keeta and am married to Steve Moore."

Certified in Vinyasa Flow Yoga, from Ashville Yoga School in 1998 with a 200 hr Yoga Alliance Certification, and currently working on 500hr certification. Have done workshop classes with Shiva Rae, Bryan Kest, Doug Keller, Desiree Romberg, Stephine Keach and Shala Worsly. Yin and Meditation with Sarah Power.

Stacy Paulk
Stacy's passion of dance began with her first ballet class in 1986 with the Hilton Head Dance School (HHDS) under the leadership of former principal with the American Ballet Theatre, Karena Brock-Carlyle and her husband John Carlyle. She trained and performed with HHDS until 2000.

During her performing years Stacy danced a variety of principal roles in shows such as The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Cinderella, The Sleeping Beauty, and Giselle to name a few. She has had the privilege of training with world class dance programs such as the Boston Ballet, Atlanta Ballet, Ballet Magnificat! as well as the South Carolina Governors School. Her experiences have given her the opportunity to train with renowned dancers such as Robert Lindgren, Fernando Bujones and Kathi Thibodeaux. She has been a guest artist with The Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra, The Philadelphia Orchestra, Greenville Ballet and the Spoleto Arts Festival.

Pursuing her love for dance, Stacy studied Dance and Choreography, with an emphasis on Dance Education at Elon University in Elon, NC. She is also a graduate of Armstrong Atlantic State University.
Wife and mother, Stacy currently serves in the community as a Registered Dental Hygienist. She is honored to be a part of the Golden Isles Ballet Company and looks forward to helping the company grow by bringing her experience and love of dance to the beautiful dancers of the Golden Isles.

Hillary Johnston
Hillary Johnston, RYT, is an ex-yoga teacher who fell in love with the efficiency and grace of barre classes after experiencing her first class in 2005. Soon thereafter, she became a teacher with the Bar Method at their Bernardsville, NJ studio. More than a decade later, she is now a senior barre instructor, and is passionate about good form, core strength and joint safety. Hillary will help you sculpt, strengthen and lengthen your muscles safely and effectively while increasing your flexibility, balance and mental focus. Joyce Yeatts
Joyce teaches alignment based flow classes that focus on cultivating mindfulness through movement.
With her clear instruction and down to earth style, she creates classes that are both challenging and soothing at once.

She received her 200 hour teacher training through Discovery yoga center in St Augustine, Fl.
With over 16 years of practicing yoga and 12 years of teaching yoga.
She has learned patience, compassion, and an ever unfurling intrigue in the mechanics of life in the body.

in addition to teaching yoga ,she is a licensed massage therapist with 19 years experience.

She has traveled all over the world studying and practicing yoga and meditation.

She extends deep gratitude to her teachers Sabine Vera, John Friend, Elena Brower, Mathew Sweeney,
Janita, Goenecka, Lama Zeupa and many more.

Emily Chapo
Emily Chapo began her classical ballet training in Florida and Georgia. After studying at international summer programs including American Ballet Theatre, Nutmeg Conservatory and the Goh Ballet Academy, Emily attended The Florida State University as a B.F.A Candidate in Dance prior to graduating as a scholarship recipient with The Goh Ballet Academy in Vancouver, Canada under the direction of Choo Chiat and Lin Yee Goh.
While at the Goh, Emily performed numerous classical, contemporary and traditional Chinese works internationally throughout Canada and China, including Napoli, Don Quixote, Swan Lake, Jardin Animée staged by Anna Marie Holmes, Konservatoriet, The Nutcracker, Souvenir de Florence and the world premier of Toru Shimazaki’s Rise, among others. Upon graduation, Ms. Chapo joined Lamondance Contemporary Company in North Vancouver. Under the direction of Lara Barclay and Monica Proencia, Emily toured throughout British Columbia performing original contemporary works and was invited to perform for the International Seminar of Dance in Brasilia, Brazil.
Relocating to New York City, she was an instructor for a sister school of the Dance Theatre of Harlem. She has privately coached and choreographed dancers for such international ballet competitions as Youth American Grand Prix and American Dance Competition. Ms. Chapo is also a graduate of the Florida State University with a B.S. in exercise science, and teaches biology in Jacksonville, Florida.
